	*Dec 2008 - UK Standard Rate of VAT is Reduced to 15%*


	Gordon Brown’s government announced last week that the standard rate of VAT will be reduced from 17.5% to 15% from December 1st, 2008. How does this affect DryStream customers?

	Firstly, DryStream will now charge only 15% VAT on the sale of its products and services. That won’t matter much to UK Dry Cleaners who are VAT registered and can claim back all standard rate VAT. For those customers that are not VAT registered it means that the cost of owning a DryStream system has been reduced, in some cases, by nearly £100.

	Secondly, existing DryStream users will probably want to reduce their prices to reflect the new VAT rate. This can be done in seconds with DryStream’s Global Price Change facility. Call our helpline on 020 8441 0102 and they’ll talk you through it.

June 2008 - DryStream Introduces Low Start Finance Plan

DryStream this month introduced a unique low-start finance plan for DryStream customers. Dry Cleaners wishing to acquire DryStream EPoS systems may now do so by making a small deposit then paying just £25 per month for the first year of ownership. The balance is then settled on a standard low cost business lease. “This plan is proving very popular already” says DryStream’s Jerry Bernstein. “It gives customers the ability to pay just a small monthly amount while they get used to their new system” he says. April 2008 - 100% Tax Free Allowances for DryStream

From April 2008 Gordon Brown’s government’s new Annual Investment Allowance becomes available to UK dry cleaners and launderers.

The new regulation means that you can purchase up to £50,000 worth of new equipment and receive 100% of its value against income for tax purposes in the forthcoming tax year(s). (That could mean a tax saving of up to 40% of the value of your new DryStream system in the year of acquisition - Thanks Gordon!!)

November 2007 - DryStream London Roadshow

DryStream’s latest roadshow was at the Hampstead Brittania Hotel in North London’s Primrose Hill district. The one-day event gave local dry cleaners the chance to see and try DryStream’s latest range of EPoS systems including DryStream TOUCH and the ever popular DryStream TillWatch security system. The event was a great success with several businesses taking advantage of the current incentives and offers of the day. September 2007 - Somerset Dry Cleaner wins DryStream/LCT iPod Competition

July 2007 - First DryStream System in Ghana.

DryStream ships its first EPoS system for Dry Cleaners to Ghana, Africa.

On a tour of the UK and then to Las Vegas for the Clean exhibition to review the latest components for dry cleaners, DryStream’s newest African customer orders a DryStream PC system for their operation in Accra, Ghana. DryStream software allows for multiple currencies and operational methods to accommodate customers from overseas.

Already a popular choice in South Africa and Nigeria, DryStream adds Ghana to the list of countries already benefiting from DryStream EPoS systems.

May 2007 - DryStream Now Available with Vista.

DryStream is pleased to announce that as of 1st June 2007 DryStream TOUCH systems may be shipped on Microsoft’s new operating system - Vista.

Head of Software Development, James Burns says “Vista provides loads of features and opportunities for the DryStream power user and we’re happy to let DryStream software start to take advantage of that so soon after Vista’s release.”

Customers wishing to order DryStream TOUCH with Vista should discuss exact requirements with their sales representative. In the meantime all DryStream systems can still ship with Windows XP as usual.

March 2007 - More DryStream Systems for Dubai.

DryStream continues deliveries of EPoS systems for dry cleaners to its customer base in Dubai, UAE.

DryStream has proved popular in Dubai, probably because of its widespread use and installed user base in the UK. Another consignment leaves the UK this month to expand further the growing network of dry cleaning outlets using DryStream.
